Collectibles and Collectible Design Furniture
Studio Archive and Sculptural Tables Made from Ancient Kauri
Beaupoil’s works are crafted from select, monumental ancient kauri slabs with their own unique material character, embedded amber, and documented provenance. Each piece evolves from a specific formation with its own tree line and is crafted in the studio into a sculptural piece of furniture, a functional collector’s item, or a spatial design object.

The works are divided into available pieces and selected archived works. This allows each piece to be viewed as a unique collector's item and appreciated for its own form and spatial impact.

Documented One-of-a-Kind Pieces
Available Collectibles
The available works showcase the diverse material characteristics of ancient kauri: smooth trunk sections, monumental root sections with bark and embedded amber, and formations in which the roots and trunk remain visible as a single, connected tree form.
Particularly distinctive are the transitions between the root system and the trunk. These areas reveal naturally formed landscapes of rock and soil that occur in this form only in a few surviving ancient kauri formations.

Selected Works
Works Archive and Exclusive One-of-a-Kind Pieces
The artist's archive features earlier works created from a variety of materials: root slabs rich in amber, more subdued tree trunks, monumental tree forms, and objects with a stronger vertical or horizontal presence.
These archived works demonstrate how differently Ancient Kauri can appear in a space—as a clean, sculptural table, as a spatial object with a strong sense of the tree’s form, or as exclusive collectible furniture with a monumental presence.

Functional Art
Amber, tree-shaped pieces, and documented one-of-a-kind items
Each piece is crafted from a single Ancient Kauri slab, each with its own unique grain pattern, root structure, and internal organization. Radiocarbon dating, age verification, and documented origin in New Zealand are all part of the provenance of each work.
As a result, only a few documented, one-of-a-kind pieces are created each year, combining collectible design, functional art, and the natural visual appeal of solid kauri wood.

Art and design objects made of rare solid wood
Finite Formations and Limited Availability
The available Ancient Kauri formations come from historical sites and constitute a limited material resource. New root and trunk formations of this type will no longer develop.
Each large Ancient Kauri slab is therefore part of a finite legacy whose unique characteristics, dimensions, and natural grain patterns cannot be replicated. This finiteness defines the special status of the available works.

Everything from a single source
From Found Object to Sculptural Collectible
The pieces are crafted entirely in Beaupoil's studio. He personally selects the slab, develops the form, and carries out the finishing work.
Monumental slabs of raw wood are transformed into kauri tables, burl tables, and sculptural collector's items, each with its own distinct grain pattern, striking visual presence, and extraordinary depth of material.

Collectible Furniture & Spatial Impact
Sculptural Tables and Collectibles in the Room
These pieces create a variety of spatial effects. More understated trunk-top tables can serve as collectible dining tables or executive tables. Monumental burl-top tables make a striking statement as sculptural centerpieces, collectible conference tables, or freestanding collector’s items.
Particularly in minimalist living spaces, private collections, libraries, meeting rooms, or exclusive gallery-like interiors, tree forms, amber zones, and natural root structures become an integral part of the space.
