Unique Piece 180 – Split Ancient Kauri Formation | Collectible Conference Table
A monumental collector's item carved from a single solid piece
Unikat 180 was crafted from a solid Ancient Kauri burl measuring 280 × 210 cm, whose natural grain pattern remains fully visible to this day. The conference table’s 8-cm-thick top was intentionally split into two halves, allowing each half to be used as a standalone table.

Both halves of the slab come from a monumental ancient kauri formation and retain their shared material characteristics. The grain pattern continues to develop in each half, yet remains recognizable as part of a single, interconnected natural structure. This shared origin is what makes this piece unique.

Uniqueness Through a Well-Established Unity
Two distinct collectibles with a shared material history
What makes this work unique is its versatility and the preservation of a single natural formation. Both halves of the slab have their own identity, yet remain recognizable as a single, unified work.
This combination makes Unikat 180 an extraordinary collectible design piece. The uniform grain, the continuous amber-colored zones, and the unbroken burl structure reveal the original character of the solid wood.

A Landscape of Materials Created by Nature
Spatial depth created by amber, resin, and natural root structures
Dark resin veins, inlaid amber sections, natural tree edges, and preserved bark zones run across both halves of the slab. The surface appears as a cohesive landscape of material, whose internal movement has been preserved throughout the entire formation.
The artisan's work consists of making this naturally formed order visible and carrying forward its extraordinary visual power as a sculptural collector's item.
Uniqueness Through Functional Flexibility
Two freestanding dining tables or a sculptural conference table
The uniqueness of this piece lies in its versatility: when pushed together, it takes on the presence of a monumental Collectible Conference Table suitable for spacious boardrooms, law firms, or architecturally designed conference rooms.
When separated, they become two distinct Collectible Dining Tables that retain their shared origins while still being usable independently of one another. This rare combination of functional flexibility and naturally formed unity gives the piece its exclusive status within the Beaupoil collection.
The Creation of the Work
From a spontaneous formation to a work of art
The photos show the original root structure of this collectible piece of furniture before it was carved. The two halves of the slab were originally part of a single piece of natural wood with an interconnected root structure.
Beaupoil personally selected the design and crafted it from the initial cut to the finished collector's item in his studio in Germany.
Documented provenance and scientific dating
3,700 Years of History for Exclusive Architectural Designs
Beaupoil had a material sample from the Ancient Kauri Formation analyzed at the Laboratory for Age Determination and Isotope Research in Kiel. The scientific age certificate indicates an age of 3,700 years .
Beaupoil personally selected the natural root formation in New Zealand and oversaw the cutting process on site. The subsequent refinement in the studio in Germany preserves the naturally formed structure as a documented one-of-a-kind piece.

A sense of grandeur created by a massive ancient kauri formation
A sculptural collector's item for architectural spaces
Measuring 280 × 210 cm, the piece exudes an extraordinary spatial presence. Whether used as a collectible conference table, an executive table, or a large-scale design object, its original form is particularly striking in serene architectural interiors, exclusive gallery spaces, and private art collections.
The understated table frame deliberately takes a back seat to the material itself, allowing the organic unity of the Ancient Kauri formation to come fully into its own.

Available Collectible
Exclusivity thanks to a contiguous ancient kauri formation
Unikat 180 is a unique, documented piece made of subfossil Ancient Kauri hardwood with embedded amber, preserved natural grain, and a scientifically dated origin.
Its exclusivity stems from a single monumental root formation, whose natural structure remains fully visible even after the piece has been split. This makes this conference table an extraordinary collectible that bridges the gap between functional art and contemporary craft. Due to the absolute scarcity of subfossil kauri wood, this one-of-a-kind collectible furniture becomes a valuable investment piece that will retain its worth for generations.
